This magical mountain has been enticing adventurers for decades in search of magical healing, higher meaning, treasure hunters, and all those seeking confirmation that life beyond the limits of our senses is not just a myth.

Sunset and settlement at the foot of Rtanj.

Climbing Rtanj: The natural pyramidal structure of this mountain is a unique phenomenon, making its ascent a specific challenge for climbers who can try several trails of varying difficulty. The ascent from the southern side of the mountain offers an adventure with slightly less effort than the ascent from the northern side. Particularly exciting is the night climb to Šiljak, which is traditionally held on Christmas. Night climbing during the meteor showers in the summer months is also possible due to the well-marked trails, of course, with respect to all precautionary and safety measures.

THE MUNCH LEGACY: The Munch family played a significant role in Rtanj's 20th-century history, managing the mine at the foot of Rtanj, establishing a workers' settlement, and advocating for the area's development, marking a period of prosperity. The Minhs cared not only for the people but also for the entire Rtanj community. Traveling the world, they brought plants from different regions. Their park became widely renowned, not only for rare plants but also for interesting features, some of which can still be seen and visited today, such as the rose garden, with over 1000 roses, erected in honor of Greta Munch.

Rtanj Spring - a location where a strong intersection of energies is extremely beneficial to the human body.

RTANJ SPRING: The healing energy spring has been known since the time of Roman legionnaires, who noticed that wounds of soldiers healed three times faster in the hospital at the foot of Rtanj. This story was once considered a mere myth until a team of scientists proved that this sanctuary emits certain types of energy (electric, magnetic, and orgone). Today, this attraction is marked, and visitors to Rtanj often seek a subjective sense of these different types of energy.

RTANJ TEA: Rtanj tea (Satureja montana) grows on the southeastern slopes of Rtanj and is known for its medicinal properties. This tea is used to alleviate inflammation of the respiratory, digestive, and urinary tract organs, as well as to treat external inflammations of the skin and mucous membranes. Rtanj tea strengthens the immune system, is particularly beneficial for children and the elderly, and protects against colds, coughs, and bronchitis. Due to its exceptional properties, Rtanj tea is popular among enthusiasts of natural medicine and represents a true treasure of nature.

The mountain rises sharply from the plain and ends in an almost regular cone, leading many to believe that Rtanj is also a pyramid.

SERBIAN RAMONDA (Ramonda serbica): Known as the phoenix flower, and its twin Natalija's ramonda (Ramonda nathaliae), are unique plants found in several locations in Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Greece. One of these locations includes the steep slopes of Mount Rtanj. Despite their delicate appearance, these plants possess incredible resilience and the ability to survive without water, which is why they are called the phoenix flower. Thanks to poikilohydry, the ramonda can appear dry and dead, but with the first favorable conditions and a few drops of water, it can revive. This rare ability of anabiosis is present in only 30 species of flowering plants out of a total of 270,000 worldwide.

SHELTER FROM THE END OF THE WORLD 2012 : On the famous date of December 21, 2012, Rtanj became a refuge for all people who feared the end of the world, seeking protection on it, believing that its energy would save them. The Mayan prophecy brought journalists and scientists from around the world to Rtanj in anticipation of recording the long-awaited apocalypse.

Rtanj has been visited on several occasions by Novak Djokovic. The world's greatest tennis player, who pays great attention to his spiritual life, said after one of his visits: "The more we spiritually elevate ourselves, the more the secrets of Rtanj will reveal themselves to us."
