Stara Planina, also known as the Balkan Mountain or simply the Old Lady, as affectionately called by enthusiasts, offers an unforgettable experience along its 530 km length.
Situated between Bulgaria and Serbia, the Serbian part extends across the municipalities of Dimitrovgrad, Pirot, Knjaževac, and Zaječar. With peaks like Midžor (2,169 m) and rich biodiversity, this mountain has been a Nature Park since 1997.
The ski center provides 13 km of slopes, a gondola, a chairlift, and artificial snowmaking. Besides skiing, visitors can enjoy traditional villages, local hospitality, and various specialties (Oh, yes - "belmuž"). Stara Planina is a magical haven for all nature lovers.

TRI ČUKE - This isolated ridge is increasingly attracting hiking and adventure enthusiasts. Access to the summit was established in the late forties with the construction of watchtowers by the JNA. The legend of buried treasure on the ridge continues to intrigue the curious and explorers.
TOPLI DO - The settlement in the Stara Planina Nature Park is unique due to numerous waterfalls surrounding it, including Kurtulski and Piljski Waterfalls. Not far from the village of Dojkinci, Tupavica Waterfall creates a scenery reminiscent of a movie like Avatar or some other fantastic world.

MIDŽOR - The highest peak of The Old Mountain in Serbia, Midžor, offers a moderately challenging ascent. The marked trail begins at the Babin Zub mountain hut and extends for 8 km (You also need to reach Babin Zub :)). After the hiking adventure, visitors can continue to enjoy nearby ski slopes or other winter sports.
TEMŠTICA - The Temštice River Canyon, also known as the "Serbian Colorado," captivates with its red rocks. Located near Pirot, hidden among the peaks of Stara Planina, it is an untouched natural gem between Midžor, Devils Head, Bratkova Strana, and Naked Head.
ZAVOJSKO LAKE - When it comes to weekend destinations, Zavojsko Lake is a common choice for residents of Niš and Pirot. Besides enjoying swimming during the summer, visitors can explore the surroundings through walks to viewpoints like Kozji Kamen, Smilovica, or the bridge near Velika Lukanja.
